Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Platterday, a local-first recipe-planning app, handles information. “We” means the developer of Platterday.
Information we collect
Platterday does not require or provide a user account and has no developer-operated backend. We do not collect information through the app for analytics, telemetry, crash tracking, advertising, or cross-app tracking. We do not sell user data.
Recipes, source URLs, ingredients, instructions, tags, meal plans, grocery lists and items, store profiles, unit preferences, and weekly reminder settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData and UserDefaults. The app does not send that content to us. Weekly planning reminders are local notifications, not remote push notifications, and do not include recipe, grocery, or store details.
Platterday reads the clipboard only after you tap Paste URL and places the copied text in the visible recipe URL field. It does not read the clipboard automatically or fetch a recipe until you start the import.
Information sent to recipe websites
When you import a recipe, Platterday sends the URL you entered directly to that website and receives the page needed for the import. The request uses a desktop-style browser User-Agent. The website may receive typical network information, such as your IP address and request headers, and may keep logs under its own privacy policy. We do not operate a server for this request. Parsed recipe information is processed on your device and saved locally only if you choose to save it.
When you open a saved source link, the system browser and the linked website handle that visit under their own practices.
Apple services and purchases
Purchases, Redeem a Code, and Restore Purchases use Apple StoreKit. Apple handles payment, Apple Account, offer-code, transaction, and entitlement processing. We do not receive payment-card details or offer codes through the app. Platterday checks the StoreKit result on the device to determine whether access is active.
If you download the app or participate in TestFlight, Apple may handle Apple Account, device, build, beta participation, diagnostic, and feedback information under Apple’s terms and privacy practices. App Store Connect may make Apple-managed operational or aggregate reports available to the publisher. These services are separate from Platterday’s local recipe data and are not app analytics collected by us.
Export, backup, and other destinations
An export or backup can include recipes, source URLs, meal plans, grocery lists, store profiles, and settings. Export is user-initiated. A password-protected backup is encrypted, and the app does not store its password. Import reads only a file you select; restoring changes local data only after your confirmation.
You choose where an exported file is saved: Apple Files, iCloud Drive, a third-party file provider, or another destination. Once a file leaves the app, that provider or destination controls its storage, access, retention, and security. We do not receive a copy unless you separately send it to us.
Email and support
The current beta has no in-app report or support flow. If you email support@platterday.com, we receive your address, message, attachments, and other information you include. We use it to answer questions and provide support. Your email provider may also process the message under its own policies. Do not send sensitive information you do not want to share.
Children
Platterday is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child sent information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it where required.
Your choices and rights
You can view, edit, or delete local content in the app, or delete the app and its local data. Delete exported or backup copies separately from Files, iCloud Drive, or the destination you chose. We cannot delete information retained by a recipe website, Apple, TestFlight, App Store Connect, an email provider, or a file provider; contact those providers directly.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of personal information we hold, including support correspondence. Email support@platterday.com to make a request. We may verify your request and will respond as required by applicable law.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as Platterday changes. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date. The hosted version of this policy is the canonical version.
